I finished the last 2 Monkey Wrench blocks:
The center square on these 5 inch blocks finishes to a mere 1 inch. It's been fun to fussy cut some of the fabrics to make the best use of that 1 inch. Sometimes I featured a floral motif:
Sometimes a little flower,
But these next two are by far my favorites. The first is a little portrait:
and the second is a motif of 2 joined hands.
Starting today, Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts is having a quiltalong that uses up her CW bits and pieces and makes up into a small quilt. Now that I have my CW fabrics scattered all around my sewing room, I might just join her.
For this gal who loves her jewel tone fabrics, and her brilliant batiks, working with the Civil War reproductions is outside my comfort zone but that is one of the reasons I like them so much.
I'm still in LOVE with these blocks, and I really like the fussy-cutting. That is so what I would do, too. (Only I would find a way to have a flag in there, ha ha.) I checked out the link you had and love that as well. There are just too many things out there right now to do!
