These blocks are very addictive, let me tell you. I sew them up 4 or 5 at a time, and then step back and review where I want to go with the colors for the next batch. I can see that the purple background of the block in the fourth row stands out a bit, so for the last 2 blocks I will concentrate on making the background a little darker to balance that one out.
Did I just say "last 2 blocks"? I may have to rethink this little wall hanging into something bigger just so I can keep going.
There are a couple of different names for the Monkey Wrench block. I have seen the same block referred to as "Churn Dash" and also "Hole in the Barn Door". When I told my husband all three names he said "I see a monkey wrench". I agree. Do you?
How about now?
Happy Quilted New Year!
I'm glad you are thinking about making it bigger. They are too pretty to stop at 20.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Your blocks look so great all together! How many do you think you'll end up making??
ReplyDeleteSo cute...can't stop now.
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are super! I might need to wrangle up some scraps and do a few :)
